Your Santa Fe Summer Events Guide
Santa Fe is a bustling epicenter for cultural events and entertainment during the summer. People travel far and wide to experience summer in our city. From festivals and markets, to the two week long Santa Fe Parade of Homes presented by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association, there’s no shortage of things to do in Santa Fe during the summer. Here are just a few of our favorite Santa Fe summer events. We hope to see you there!
Music on the Hill
June 15– July 27
The Music on the Hill™ at St. Johns College begins its 11th season on June 15 and continues each Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. through July 27. This free concert series features performances blues, soul, folk, and jazz performances by talented musicians and vocalists.
Santa Fe Opera
July 1 – August 28
Believe it or not, the Santa Fe Opera has become one of the world’s leading cultural festivals. The 2016 season kicks off Friday, July 1 and runs through August 28, and features dazzling performances of La Fanciulla del West, Don Giovanne, Roméo et Juliette, Capriccio, and Vanessa.
Santa Fe International Folk Art Market
July 8 – 10
The Santa Fe International Folk Art Market, hosted by the International Folk Arts, was voted The Best Art Festival by USA Today’s 10Best Readers’ Choice Awards. The annual event is the largest festival of its kind, hosting more than 170 artists from around the world.
Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival
July 17 – August 22
The Santa Fe Chamber Music Festival has become one of the world’s leading music festivals. Distinguished musicians and up-and-coming talent perform in more than 80 concerts, recitals, master classes, youth concerts, and open rehearsals during the festival’s 6-week season.
Spanish Market
July 30 – 31
The 65th Annual Traditional Spanish Market on the historic Santa Fe Plaza is hosted by the Spanish Colonial Arts Society. Over 250 Spanish Colonial Artists from the Southwest will showcase their talents in woodcarving, tinwork, colcha, hide painting, retablos, straw appliqué, furniture and furnishings, weaving, jewelry, filigree, pottery and ironwork.
Santa Fe Parade of Homes
August 12 – 14 and 19 – 21
“Haciendas – A Parade of Homes” presented by the Santa Fe Area Home Builders Association is the premier builder showcase of the Southwest. Visitors from around the world travel to Santa Fe each August to view the creativity and innovative designs from the area’s most esteemed home builders. Ticket sales from Haciendas – A Parade of Homes help fund local programs and charitable organizations. Woods Design Builders is pleased to feature two custom homes in this year’s parade.
Santa Fe Indian Market
August 20 – 21
The Southwestern Association for Indian Arts (SWAIA) Santa Fe Indian Market is the largest, and most prestigious, Native arts show in the world and the largest cultural event in the southwest. This 95-year-old Native art market plays host to over 1,000 Native artists from the U.S. and Canada, and presents the unique opportunity for buyers and collectors to buy pieces directly from the artists and learn about Indian arts and cultures.
